Fury 2007/2008 Season In Review
The Cambridge Fury season of 2007/2008 has been the franchise's most successful year in their history. A 4th place finish in the PWHL as well as two Tournament wins contributed to a great year for the Fury! The teams overall record consisted of 62 games played 39 wins, 8 ties and 15 losses while outscoring their opposition 215 goals to 123 goals.
Tournaments
The Fury played in five tournaments throughout the year including the Provincial Tourney. They won Gold at two and advanced in every other tourney to the quarterfinals or semi-finals.
The Fury travelled to Union College in Upper New York State in September and went undefeated to win the tourney, which had several strong PWHL teams present. The Fury defeated the Stoney Creek Sabres in the Final to claim the Tourney Gold.
The Stoney Creek Showcase tournament saw the Fury advance to the B Final. The Fury finished with 4 wins and 3 losses in this event.
The Mississauga Christmas Tourney saw the Fury win their first 4 games to go to the semi-final where they lost to a very strong Quebec Cheminots who came away as tourney champions.
The OWHA Provincial Tournament was in February and the Fury started off quickly by winning all 3 of their round robin games before meeting up with the Mississauga Chiefs in the quarterfinals. The Fury lost a heartbreaker in overtime and were eliminated.
The Fury were once again Gold winners at the Brampton Canadettes Easter Tourney. They won all five games to claim the Tourney's top spot.
