Saturday's road trip to Barrie saw the Fury and the Sharks in a 1-1 tie at the end of the third period. Jessica Staats scored the game winner at 1:52 in the overtime period with a short-handed goal!

Our game in Aurora on Sunday afternoon was a much better team effort on the ice and despite great goaltending by Abby Huggins the Fury was unable to come up with a win.

The Fury will return to action on Friday, January 27th where we will meet Waterloo at the Preston Memorial Auditorium. Gametime is at 8pm!

The Fury started their 2012 Regular season play with a short bench and were not able to sustain a 2-0 lead going into the third period. A couple of unlucky breaks and an empty net goal left the Fury with a 4-2 loss against Etobicoke.

On Sunday the Fury welcomed the assistance of some extra bodies who were a nice addition and created a well-rounded Fury attack. Solid goaltending by Abby Huggins and some key plays by special teams helped to earn the Fury a much needed 2 points as they continue to battle for play-off position in the standings. The winning score against the Brampton Thunder was 4-1.

The Fury will continue their new year on the road next weekend when they visit Barrie on Saturday at 12:00pm and then Aurora on Sunday at 12:15pm.

The fury are on a New Year's break this week. We are looking forward to our first league game of 2012 when we meet Etobicoke on their home ice this Saturday, Jan. 7th at 1:15pm. We will round out the weekend on the road when we travel to Brampton for a 1:15pm start against the Thunder on Sunday, Jan. 8th.
